You Deserve Care.
Nourishment should feel like an act of care, not control. My approach is grounded in compassion, evidence-based practice, and a deep respect for body diversity. I support clients through a weight-neutral, non-diet lens, helping them rebuild trust in their bodies and cultivate a peaceful relationship with food.
I work with adults and adolescents recovering from eating disorders and disordered eating, as well as parents who want to foster balanced, positive food relationships for their children. Together, we create a safe, supportive space—free of shame, rules, or judgment—where you can explore what true nourishment means for you.

My Approach: Compassion Over Control
I believe healing happens when we approach food and our bodies with curiosity instead of criticism. My practice is built on several core principles:

You have a unique experience.
I honor your unique lived experience and tailor my support to meet your individual needs, ensuring that your healing journey is personalized, respectful, and paced just for you.

Progress isn’t linear.
Setbacks aren’t failures, they’re part of the journey, and you won’t be judged for them.

Nourishment is about more than nutrition.
Food is pleasure, connection, culture, and comfort. We honor all of these aspects.

Healing is a journey; it takes time, patience, and kindness
Recovery doesn’t happen overnight. Every step you take, no matter how small, is progress. Be gentle with yourself and trust that with patience and support, healing is possible.
Here, food stops being the enemy, and nourishment becomes an ACT OF KINDNESS.

Words from those I’ve walked beside

Our stable family home was rocked to the core when our daughter was diagnosed with an eating disorder. Feelings of helplessness washed over us daily. Grappling with the enormity of our daughter’s struggles and how we could help her was daunting.
Maya immediately made a connection with our daughter. Her kind and understanding way instantly built trust in all of us. Maya instinctively knew how to encourage our daughter, asking meaningful questions and providing helpful ideas on navigating the day-to-day struggles of simply eating. Maya is amazing at her job and she truly cares about her clients. With Maya’s support, we could see a path out of disordered eating. Her guidance gave us, as parents, a role in how we could effectively help our daughter. With her encouragement, we were empowered and no longer felt helpless and alone.
Thanks to Maya’s help, our daughter made excellent gains back to health. She inspired a will to get better in our daughter, and for that, we will always be grateful.

I started counselling with Maya, for my eating disorder, beginning of 2019. She really cared about me: I wasn’t only a sick patient needing to recover, but someone she worried about and believed in.
When we set meal plans together, she always made sure to include foods I did enjoy eating and others I feared. We would discuss body image, consequences of undernourishment, weight gain… Maya never stopped encouraging me, especially during the times I didn’t make progress. She was always very supportive, supporting me when I didn’t eat enough or had a breakdown.
I owe Maya so much! If you hesitate on whether or not to seek support, you just found the right place and the right person.
Recovering from an eating disorder is possible. It simply begins with a little bit of trust and encouragement.

I was never convinced about nutrition or dieting because the main idea always felt like deprivation. Maya didn’t deprive me of anything.. I’ve now reached a point where it feels like a way of life, not a diet or restriction. She’s the most amazing person I’ve ever worked with and the one I’ve benefited from the most. Truly the best dietitian!

Questions You Might Have
Q: How is your approach different from traditional nutrition counseling?
A: My approach is grounded in weight-neutral and non-diet principles. It’s not about fighting your body or focusing on weight. Instead, we work together to heal your relationship with food, address the emotional side of eating, and help you build internal trust and flexibility, all while honoring and empowering your body.
Q: Do you work with people who don’t have diagnosed eating disorders?
A: Absolutely. Many of my clients are struggling with disordered eating patterns, body dissatisfaction, or food anxiety that may not meet clinical criteria but still significantly impact their lives. If food feels like a struggle, you deserve support.
Q: How long do people typically work with you?
A: Every journey is different. Some clients work with me for several months, others for over a year. We’ll regularly check in about your goals and needs, and you’re in control of the timeline.
Q: What can parents expect from working with you?
A: I help parents navigate challenges like picky eating, and build confidence around family meals. The focus is on creating a peaceful food environment that supports your child’s natural relationship with eating.
